Nice are somewhat of a ‘boogie team’ for PSG with the log leaders failing to beat Sunday’s opponents in 5 of the last 8 French Ligue 1 matches.
You might count that as mere history if you like but the Nice team that beat PSG in December still comprises of the same players 4 months on with the exception of Valentin Eysseric who is suspended for the rest of season for a horrendous tackle on St Eteinne’s Jérémy Clément.
Valentin Eysseric was crucial in that first leg tie as he scored the winner for Nice in a 2-1 victory.
Eric Bauthéac who scored the first goal for Nice in that victory will also miss out due to suspension so Nice will go into this tie with a crisis of sorts as Joris Delle and Alex Bosetti are also confirmed absentees.
PSG have had two additions in Lucas and Beckham both of whom are likely to feature and the only major doubt is Menez who might be given a late fitness test to see if he is ready to come back.
Based on the fact that Nice are playing PSG at the Parc des Princes. Nice will be travelling to the Parc des Princes a number of players short and that will play a major role in the outcome of the match.
Both teams have something to play for so it should be a competitive tie. PSG are well in front but they can still lose the title to chasing Marseille and Nice still have a good chance of claiming that 4th spot to ensure Europa league football next term.
